Endoprostheses are implants that permanently replace a joint in the body.
The proven procedure is by no means limited to the relatively widespread artificial hip joints. Modern medicine has permanently loadable and body-compatible endoprostheses available for a wide range of joints, including knees, shoulders (hemiprosthesis) and elbows.
Depending on the area of application and the findings, a wide variety of surgical procedures are used. Among other things, many operations can now be performed in a minimally invasive and thus maximally gentle manner. Surface joint replacement, which preserves the original anatomy and puts less strain on the femur than conventional methods, has also become established in the implantation of hip joints. This pays off, among other things, when the probability of a later replacement operation is high. We will be happy to advise you in detail about the procedures that are suitable for you.
